About
Hawaii Import began as a simple idea: many products that are easy to buy on the mainland are not easy to get in Hawaii.
Living in Hawaii means accepting certain trade-offs. The weather is remarkable. The community is strong. But getting certain products — the kind you'd order without a second thought on the mainland — can be a real challenge.
Some products are hard to find at local stores. Others are available online but won't ship to Hawaii addresses. Some carry freight surcharges that make them impractical to order. And some — particularly large, heavy, or restricted items — are simply not accessible through normal channels.
Hawaii Import is an attempt to understand that problem more clearly and explore whether there's a practical way to help. We're starting with categories where the challenge is most acute: tools, home improvement supplies, solar and backup power equipment, lithium batteries, generators, and oversized specialty items.
Hawaii Import started as an observation: many products that are easy to buy on the mainland are genuinely difficult to get in Hawaii. The question was whether there was a practical way to help.
Before building anything, we want to understand the problem from the people who experience it. This site exists to gather that feedback and learn what Hawaii residents and businesses actually need.
This is an early-stage concept, not a finished service. We're transparent about that. We're exploring what's possible and building from real demand — not assumptions.
This website was created to explain the Hawaii Import concept and gather feedback. It is not a finished service, a full logistics operation, or an online store. We're at the beginning — trying to understand the problem before building the solution.
The most useful thing you can do right now is tell us what products you've had trouble finding or ordering. Every request helps us understand the scope of the problem and where a service like this could have the most impact.
We're committed to being honest about what we can and can't do at each stage. If you submit a request, we'll respond with what we've found — and we'll be straightforward about the challenges.
